Xavier DUCLOUX

As the Senior Marketing Innovation Manager at Harmonic, Xavier Ducloux’s role is to monitor technological breakthroughs and to develop innovation in the video delivery domain, through proofs of concept, including technology and ecosystem partnerships.

Xavier has 27 years of experience in the video compression and digital TV industry. He started his career working in radio propagation simulations for the French Defense Agency (DGA). He joined Thomson in 1994, where he led video compression algorithms studies and implementation for several generations of ASICs and HDTV encoder products. He was particularly focused on the topic of video quality and represented Thomson in many shoot-outs throughout the world. In parallel, he was a technical leader of several European projects. In 2012, he joined the innovation team of Thomson Video Networks as a research program manager and led research of PhDs in the video domain, in collaboration with the research institute b<>com. Xavier chaired the Green MPEG standardization and was editor of the standard. He pursued the research activity within Harmonic until taking on his current position.

Xavier is frequently a speaker at industry-leading conferences across the world. He is the author of many international publications and holds multiple patents in video compression and delivery.

He graduated from the National Institute of Applied Science in France in 1990 with a degree in telecommunications.
